The 160 acres of rolling woodlands are home to deer, foxes, reptiles, amphibians and numerous species of birds. Rum Village is home to diverse wildlife. Over a hundred species of birds have been seen at Rum Village, including nesting owls, pileated woodpeckers, and warblers. Foxes, deer, reptiles and amphibians can also be found in Rum Village. Click here to see some of wildlife photos and information.
Come out to Rum Village for a game of disc golf! The view from the hills of Rum Village makes this 18 hole course a great place to play- and its FREE! Well-groomed park with a very old trees and elevation. Begins with birdieable holes - the back 9 tests accuracy.

There are now over five miles of trails at the Rum Village Annex, which is located on the west side of Gertrude Street, south of the entrance to Rum Village Park. There are beginner, intermediate and advanced trails to suit the skills of various riders.

The 160 acres of natural woodland in Rum Village Park is a designated nature area. Three miles of trails wind through this habitat. Click here for a trail map.
Many excellent specimens of native trees and a wide selection of flowering and herbaceous plants may be found here. Such a wooded tract is unique within an urban community. It is a remnant of the land that once was, a source of food and shelter for a variety of wildlife and a haven for renewal of the human spirit.
So that we may preserve the natural area, please observe these regulations:
- Walk ONLY on marked trails - do not go "cross country".
- NO bicycles or motorized vehicles allowed at any time.
- DO NOT pick or dig wildflowers or plants.
- Leave all wood (living or dead) to rebuild natural humus.
- DO NOT litter. Put all trash in the barrels provided.
- Keep all pets on a LEASH.
Two open-air, covered pavilions are available for rent. Each holds 64 people and all pavilions offer electricity and grills. Each pavilion rents for $60 plus tax for the day. The rental season in May 1 thru September 30. Reservations are accepted year round for the rental season. You may reserve online or at the O'Brien Center during regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
