Current Closings & Cancellations Due to COVID-19

Venues Parks & Arts is staying up-to-date with CDC guidelines and federal, state and local mandates in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. This page will remain updated with the most recent information regarding the closings and cancellations of Venues Parks & Arts facilities and programs.

Currently all parks and trails remain open, and playground equipment is being sanitized daily. One of the best ways to remain healthy and active during this time is to enjoy the outdoors while keeping a safe distance from others.

Currently closed: 

  • Morris Performing Arts Center
  • Century Center
  • Charles Black Community Center
  • Howard Park Event Center
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center
  • Erskine, Elbel and Studebaker Golf Courses
  • Rum Village Nature Center (park and trails remain open)
  • O’Brien Fitness Center

In addition to all programs and rentals at these facilities, the following events/activities have been cancelled:

  • PJ Fashionista (originally scheduled for March 29)
  • Boomin’ Parks Tour at Success Academy (originally scheduled for April 18)
  • Arbor Day (originally scheduled for April 25)
  • Pulaski Park Grand Opening (originally scheduled for April 29)
  • Howard Park Summer Opening (originally scheduled for May 9)
  • Open Swim at Clay High School
  • Aqua Aerobics at Clay High School
  • Learn to swim at Riley High School
  • Lifeguard Certification classes at both Riley and Clay High Schools
  • Drop-in Volleyball at Edison Intermediate Center
  • YPA Youth Basketball
