After-School Teen Time

The MLK Center strives to provide a safe and structured environment for teens, while also creating enjoyable programming that makes for a good time and many memorable experiences.  Kids in grades 7-12, can spend quality time participating in open gym, hanging in the teen lounge, watching movies, playing games, and taking advantage of safe and monitored access to the CLICK SB computer lab.  Concessions available daily in the MLK Snack Shack.


LOCATION: Community Room/CLICK SB   ACTIVITY: Game Day – board games or cards, jigsaw puzzles, vision boards, and other interactive programming.


LOCATION: Teen Lounge/CLICK SB   ACTIVITY: “Talk About It Tuesday” – chop it up with like or unlike peers about music, movies, school, friends, bullying, sports/extracurricular activities, and any other topic….you all decide!  Community Youth Leaders from the Transformation Center’s Iron Sharpens Iron program will come and hold “REAL TALK, NO CAP” special topics that touch on leadership, self-respect, integrity, and others inserted with some fun!  The next upcoming dates will be October 22, November 5 & December 12.


LOCATION:  Community Room/CLICK SB/Teen Lounge   ACTIVITY:  “Wild n Out Wednesday” – Karaoke, poetry slams, dancing, and other kickback fun.


LOCATION:    Teen Lounge/MLK Kitchen & Community Room   ACTIVITY:  “Tasty Thursday” – learn to prepare and try a simple treat with Miss JoAnn.  A light meal will also be served.


LOCATION:   Teen Lounge (Theatre Room) ACTIVITY:  Movie & Popcorn – Movies shown every Friday (monthly title schedules posted in the facility), 1st bag of popcorn is complimentary.
