John & Kathy Postle Golf Learning Center

In 2021, we were excited to open a one-of-a-kind youth golf venue:  the John & Kathy Postle Golf Learning Center. The 2,800 square foot Postle Golf Center provides an opportunity for kids to enjoy and improve their golf game year-round. Part of a public-private partnership with South Bend’s Venues, Parks and Arts Department, the Postle Golf Center is located at Studebaker Golf Course.  The facility became possible through the incredible generosity of longtime Studebaker golfer, John Postle. Mr. Postle grew up in the neighborhood near Studebaker and spent many days in his youth walking or riding his bike down to the golf course. He and his friends played all day long for just 35 cents. For that one price, they played as many holes as daylight allowed. “The friends and the memories made here at Studebaker will always be very special to me,” Mr. Postle recently explained. The character and values Mr. Postle learned on the fairways helped him succeed in his businesses, which have now allowed him the ability to give back to the community and create opportunities for the kids of today and tomorrow. Mr. Postle went on to say, “When I heard that First Tee was interested in partnering with Studebaker, I knew that junior golf was going to flourish here in Michiana. Golf is just a game. However under the guidance of The First Tee, kids will learn principles that extend well beyond the golf course to help guide them in life. This is a wonderful opportunity for all junior golfers and I am proud to be involved with Studebaker Golf Course and The First Tee of Michiana.
