Let’s be honest – who doesn’t love American Ninja Warrior? Due to my personal fascination, I was thrilled when the Venues Parks & Arts team was tasked with an assignment to challenge ourselves on the aerial ropes courses at Edge Adventure during a team building afternoon.
Strapped to our safety harnesses, we spent two hours climbing between the trees doing obstacles with various degrees of difficulty. My overconfidence led to a few squeals of fear, but my inner thrill-seeker was delighted at the challenge.
For those who enjoy the excitement of trying something new, Edge Adventure is a hidden gem in South Bend. With the summer season in full swing, it was time that we at VPA highlighted this exciting park and reasons for their success.
Jessica Spoor, Venues Parks & Arts (VPA): Why was South Bend chosen as a destination for Edge Adventures?
Nick Holt, Edge Adventures: To be a successful part of any community, we know that our business needs strong partners. Our first, and most important, partner in any community is the Parks Department whose property we operate on, and who we work with to reach out into the community. SBVPA is the perfect partner for us: an innovative, well-connected department instrumental in driving the cultural and recreational life of the community.
JS: VPA is always seeking to be inclusive. Is there something for everyone at Edge Adventures in Rum Village?
NH: At Edge Adventures South Bend, located in Rum Village Park, your family, friends, or group can take an unforgettable adventure through the treetops. We have five different courses of aerial obstacles, laced with zip lines, at different heights (20 – 60 ft. above ground) and different challenge levels. An adventure at Edge is time-based, with 2-hour, 3-hour, and all-day adventure available. During your time, you go at your own pace, and choose your own courses to enjoy!
JS: Sounds like fun for all ages! Are there limitations for the younger kids? What is the minimum age?
NH: To enjoy our aerial park, you must be a minimum of 8 years old. So 8 – 88!
JS: Summer is here, which means you’re probably very busy! When are you typically open, and how long does your season last?
NH: We recommend checking for availability and booking in advance at our website, Edgeadventureparks.com. We open in the spring and run through the fall, at least through Halloween. During the summer, we are open 7 days per week. During the school year, we are open Fri-Sun, but can host group events by reservation any day of the week.
JS: How much can guests expect to pay for admission?
NH: Daily General Admission: 2 Hour Adventure: $39 adult, $29 child (8 – 12 yrs), 3 Hour Adventure: $49 adult, $39 child (8 – 12 yrs) and All Day Adventure: $79 all ages

- Birthday packages: 2 Hour Adventure, Guest of honor is free, and others in the party are $25 each
- 10% off general admission for groups of 10+
- $25 per person for 2 hour adventure for groups of 20+
