The O’Brien Park offers green space for all the enjoy. A small playground, skate park, and pavilion are available for use.
Improvements Coming to O’Brien Park
The City of South Bend has begun construction on several improvements at O’Brien Park. Planned upgrades include a new splash pad, playground and outdoor restrooms. Also, as part of the project, a new sidewalk will be constructed along the north side of Walter Street between Fellows and Michigan streets. The O’Brien Skate Park remains open and will not be impacted by construction.
Construction at O’Brien Park is expected to be complete by mid-August, weather permitting.
O’Brien Skate Park
O’Brien Park offers one of the best regional skate park facilities in South Bend. The concrete, permanent obstacle, 13,000 square foot park includes challenges such as quarter-pipes, half-pipes, bowls, steps, ramps and rails.
